Production I.G

Animation is more than just moving images — it conveys emotion and expands imagination. Movement, color, rhythm, and transitions create a visual flow that communicates messages beyond static design. I explored how to interpret this essence of animation through design.

For the rebranding of Production I.G, one of the leading animation studios in Japan, I reconstructed animation elements into a dynamic design system. Bold typography and animation-inspired graphics shaped the brand’s visual storytelling, creating an identity that is fluid and ever-evolving — much like animation itself.

Approach - This project reminded me why I love animation in the first place. It’s not just movement—it’s emotion, story, and expression all woven together. Through this motion montage, I was able to explore my own style using bold typography and color, and ask myself: What does animation mean to me?

If this project were real, my hope is that people would see it and instantly feel what animation really is—raw, passionate, and human. It’s not just a trend. It stays. It speaks. And working on this made me realize: I’m not the same person I was when I started.
Logo Reveal - A structured color system was developed to represent different moods.
Tagline - "To be continued" is a phrase that builds anticipation and represents the ever involving storytelling journey.
Graphic Elements - Each animation genre holds a distinct emotion. These emotions were distilled into simple, recognizable symbols and systematically arranged within a grid, creating a visual language that speaks to animation enthusiasts.
Graphic Elements - Defining movement is essential to animation. I incorporated pre-production sketch techniques to develop a motion-driven design system.
Color System - Divided color with Japanese age system.
Identity Posters - I visualized what these elements symbolize and created both English and Japanese versions. Since Production I.G is a Japanese company, I wanted to highlight how its culture seamlessly blends into its work.
Identity Posters - Each animation genre carries a distinct emotion. These emotions were distilled into simple, recognizable symbols and systematically arranged within a grid, creating a visual language that resonates with animation enthusiasts.
Content Posters - Japanese animation has become a global force, with Production I.G expanding its reach through Netflix. An iconic animation was selected to visually represent how anime continues to solidify its place on the global stage.
Content Posters - Every animation goes through a production process — starting from sketches and evolving into fully animated scenes. I wanted to highlight that transformation visually. Each still represents a different stage, tracing the flow from early concept to final frame.
Motion Sequence - Dynamic transitions enhance the visuals, while bold typography highlights various animation genres. I introduced a system to transform traditionally static Production I.G content into a more immersive format by integrating my own design elements.
